Signature CMH Heli-Ski & Heli-Boarding Vacations

We operate Heliskiing and Heli-Boarding trips of varying lengths out of our 11 lodges. Each lodge is unique in its setting, and each lodge offers CMH guests access to the world's greatest deep powder skiing and riding amidst spectacular wilderness scenery.

At most lodges, we heliski in groups of 11 skiers with one guide, based on ability level and desire – adjustments to groups may be made as required. Our skillful and experienced guides are experts at finding spectacular terrain to suit all levels of skier.

Depending on conditions, we typically start the day around 9:00 am and end around 4:00 pm with an outdoor lunch break. Opportunities to return to the lodge may be available throughout the day.

Nomads Trips

These are the most dynamic and flexible small-group heli-skiing experience ever offered by CMH. Spanning both the Selkirk and Monashee ranges, heliski or ride through up to six separate CMH Heli-Skiing Areas and travel to seldom skied terrain. Experience freedom, exploration and the original spirit of heliskiing and boarding as you roam from area to area with our experienced guides.

Powder Intro Program

Strong skier but never heliskied? We recommend Powder Intro for skiers ready to make the transition into off-piste skiing as quickly as possible. Powder Intro groups comprise ten skiers who work with two guides, allowing for practical instruction while skiing and, if necessary, splitting the group according to ability. Powder Intro heliskiing weeks are offered throughout the season.

Powder Masters

Our passion for Heliskiing does not fade, even as our knees, backs and other bio-mechanical hot-spots show signs of wear. We designed our Powder Masters program, under the expert direction of Roko Koell, to keep our guests on the slopes for as long as the spirit is willing.

Powder Masters emphasizes quality of over quantity of skiing. Two guides and a maximum of ten guests per group ensure a high level of personal attention. Powder Masters weeks are offered throughout the season.

Heli-Assisted Ski Touring

A return to our roots. Our 10 Ski Touring guests and 2 guides share the lodge with our heliskiing guests and get one lift out in the morning, a full day of touring and a flight back to the lodge in time for Tea Goodie.

Note: CMH offers 5 and 7-day touring options.

Small Group Heliskiing (formerly Powder Max)

In 2011 CMH will offer Small Group Heliskiing trips in 2 areas: CMH Kootenay and CMH Adamants. Small group heliskiing consists of three or four groups of five skiers plus one guide supported by a Bell 407 six-passenger helicopter. This makes for quick lifts and opportunities to ski challenging lines.

Additional skiing above the guarantee is $125/1,000 metres (3,280 feet) and refunds are $130/1,000 metres (3,280 feet).

Note: CMH now offers 4- and 5-day options.

Pay As You Play

We can't control the conditions for any given week. But will can offer you a chance to Pay As You Play. This trip allows you to pay only for what YOU choose to ski -- as much or as little as you want, and as conditions permit. Your initial cost covers accommodation, meals and services. You are only charged based on how much heliskiing you do.

Trips come with no guaranteed footage, and you will be charged to heliski at a rate of $145/1,000 metres (3,280 vertical feet).

Please note: We create several opportunities to return to the lodge throughout the day, but cannot guarantee a ride in after every run.

CMH offers 5-day Pay As You Play heliskiing trips.

Family Heliskiing Trips

Our Family Trips are designed for families with 12- to 17-year old skiing kids.

Families begin the day heliskiing together, but kids can return to the lodge when they tire to participate in various fun, supervised indoor and outdoor activities. In the evening, our chefs cook up a grand family dinner, with special meals for the kids. On Christmas morning, families share time around a beautiful tree with gifts for everyone in the lodge.

Ski Fusion

This Heli-Ski week is a split of Heliskiing and Ski-Touring. A group of 10 guests and 2 guides will divide their week between 4 days of Heliskiing and 3 days of Ski Touring. A great introduction to Ski Touring and Heliskiing.

Guaranteed footage for your 4 days of Heliskiing is 17,500 metres (57,000 feet).

Heli-Boarding with CMH

Snowboarders are welcome on any CMH Heli-Skiing trip. We welcome anyone with strong riding skills and an appetite for powder. Come and shred the terrain of your dreams.

Steep Skiing Week

Our Steep Skiing Week is designed for skiers and snowboarders looking for a challenge on seriously steep terrain. The trip runs in late April in the Cariboos , when snow conditions are most stable and days are longer, offering better access to challenging terrain.
Watch our slideshow and videos to see what kind of terrain we're talking about.

You must be a strong, confident skier or rider – comfortable on double black diamond runs at resorts like Whistler and Jackson Hole and able to cope with tighter terrain (i.e. couloirs). Seeking the most challenging terrain available on any given day, we offer expert coaching, finding lines that allow you to develop your skills without compromising your safety.

Private Groups

This program is designed for groups of skiers looking for a personalized heliskiing experience. Private groups have exclusive use of a helicopter, guides and, depending on the area you choose, the lodge. This program offers tremendous flexibility in setting the pace and choosing how much skiing you want to do.
