CMH Summer Adventures guests at the Bobbie Burns lodge can experience an exhilarating excursion to the summit of Mt. Nimbus along North America's longest and most extensive via ferrata route. Deep in the Purcell mountains, the Bobbie Burns mountain guides designed and created a Via Ferrata (Italian for "Iron Way") adventure like no other.

New for 2010:

In the true CMH way, our guides went to learn from the masters in Europe. The vertical pathways feature permanently fixed cables for safety and metal rung ladders to ease movement. Offering remarkable views and a vertical glimpse of the mountains, this is something for everyone. No special skills or prior experience is required. Just your sense of adventure.*

"If this via ferrata route was in Boulder or some other U.S. mountain town there would be thousands of people here each and every day."

Detailed instructions on use of equipment and technique are all part of this experience.

*Note that our guides reserve the right to determine which guests will have the opportunity to experience the via ferrata. To guarantee your space on the via ferrata we recommend you book CMH's High Flying Adventure.

What Our Guests Have to Say:

CMH Hiking Trips - Via Ferrata - Bridge

"I had no idea I could do anything like this. I proved to myself that anything is possible. My guides, Gery and Carl, were inspirational and I knew I was safe throughout. Each corner was mind blowing. I'm bringing back my whole family next year."
Judy L, Dallas, Texas

"Why are you not telling more people about this?! If this via ferrata route was in Boulder or some other U.S. mountain town there would be thousands of people here each and every day. We had a mountain range to ourselves."
Nick M., Boulder Colorado
